March 17, 2025 [Mooresville, North Carolina] – NCYO Brass and Woodwind Ensembles, along with the Junior Brass and Junior Woodwind Ensembles, showcased their exceptional skill and artistry during a memorable concert featuring a diverse and dynamic program. The event highlighted the impressive range and musicianship of the ensembles, leaving the audience thoroughly entertained and inspired.
Junior Brass Ensemble opened the evening with A Childhood Hymn arranged by David Holsinger. They continued with the beautiful Largo from The New World Symphony by Antonín Dvořák. The set concluded with Primero by Gary Gazlay, a lively and spirited piece that allowed the young musicians to demonstrate their rhythmic energy.
Next, Junior Woodwind Ensemble took the stage, performing L’embarquement pour Cythère by Francis Poulnec. The ensemble’s interpretation of this enchanting work transported the audience with its graceful melodies and harmonies.
Brass Ensemble followed with a stirring rendition of Three Pieces by Ludwig Maurer. Their powerful yet nuanced performance highlighted the rich, resonant tones of the brass instruments, captivating the audience with their dynamic range and cohesion.
The evening concluded with Woodwind Ensemble, which delivered two striking performances.
